Shopping List! =)
Paint Shop Pro, a 30 day
trial program can be downloaded here
You will need this gold glitter
fill. Unzip and minimize it in Paint Shop. You can download it here.
You will need the Sun N Moon
font. You can download it
here.
It's the eighth one down. Click on Download : PC
This is a shareware font, you can try it before you buy it.
When you've got all that, come
back and we'll get started! =)
1. Open a 400 x 400 Black image.
Go to your layer palette and right click on the background layer,
click on Promote to Layer. Right click again and Rename your image
mosaicsun. You will need to "save" your image every fews steps so
you don't lose your work if Paint Shop "encounters a problem and
needs to close." Doncha' love it when that happens! I will remind
you to save your work throughout the tutorial. =)
2. Do NOT add a layer for this
step. Get your Selection Tool, Circle, Feather 10, Antialias checked.
Start your circle at 200, 200. (you can see these numbers at the
bottom left corner of your Paint shop screen.) Draw it out until
the second set of numbers read 325, 325. See screen shot below.

3. Change your foreground color
to Pattern using the flyout menu in the styles area. Click on the
color box there and find your gold glitter fill, 100 percent, Angle
0. Flood Fill your circle selection and deselect.

4. Go to Effects, Texture Effects,
Mosaic-Antique and use these settings ... then Save your work.

This is what you should have
so far.

5. Go to Effects, Geometric
Effects, Curly Q's and use these settings...

6. Sharpen. Here's what we
have now... Save!

7. Go to Colors, Adjust, Brightness/Contrast
and choose 18 for brightness and 15 for Contrast.

8. Next we are going to add
the Sun ding to our image. Click on your Text tool and click in
the center of your image to bring up the Text Entry box. First find
your Sun N Moon font in the drop down menu, size 200, Bold checked
and make your foreground and background colors, pattern, gold glitter
fill. Type in the letter k, lower case. Check to make sure Antialias
and Floating are checked then click OK.
9. You will probably need to
move your sun to the center of the image with your Mover tool. We
will add an Inner Bevel then you will see it more clearly. =) Go
to Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel and use the Round preset.

10. Go to Effects, 3D Effects,
Drop Shadow and use these settings..
Make sure your Shadow color
is Black
Vertical= 4 Opacity= 100
Horizontal= 4 Blur= 8.6
Apply the drop shadow one more
time but change the Vertical and Horizontal settings to -4.

11. Now you can use your Mover
Tool again if you want to make any changes to where your Sun image
is placed on the background. Then Deselect and Save.
12. We are going to resize
this image before we do the framing. Go to Image, Resize and use
the settings below, resize your image one more time, then Sharpen.
Save.

13. Let's start on the framing!
Change your background color to White and choose Solid fill in the
Styles palette. Go to Image, Add Borders, and add a 10 pixel symetrical
border. Using your Magic Wand, Tolerance 0, Feather 0, select your
white Border. Your gold glitter pattern should still be available
as your foreground color so Flood fill your border with that now
then Save your work.
14. Now we need to brighten
the gold again so go to Colors, Adjust, Brightness/Contrast and
choose 18 for Brightness and 15 for Contrast.
15. Go to Effects, 3D Effects,
Inner Bevel and apply the Round preset. Change your Depth to 5 and
the Shininess to 33.
16. Change your background
color to Black and go to Image, Add Borders, and add a 15 pixel
symetrical border. Using your Magic Wand select the Black border
and go to Effects, Texture Effects, Mosaic-Antique. Use the same
settings as before. You will see that it has pulled some of the
gold glitter into the black border, we want that to happen! Deselect
and Save.

17. Change your background
color to White and go to Image, Add borders and add a 10 pixel white
symetrical border. Select the white border with your Magic Wand
and Flood Fill with your gold glitter fill.
18. Go to Colors, Adjust, Brightness/Contrast
and choose 18 for Brightness and 15 for Contrast. Then go to Effects,
3D Effects, Inner Bevel and apply the Round preset, changing the
Depth to 5 and the Shininess to 33. Deselect and Save.
Resize and Sharpen your image.
Add your watermark and you are done!

Here's how it looks done in
silver.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial
