This tutorial was written for PSP9. If you are using PSP8, some
of the paths to the various tools
and effects may be different. All the effects are there, you
might just have to hunt to find
them.
I have included lots of instructions and screen shots with
the hope that anyone can do this tutorial. I have most of my favorite
effects on a toolbar but I have included the path to each effect
so it will be easy to find them if you are new to PSP. If you are more
advanced, just skip along
at your own pace. I hope you enjoy doing this tutorial and if you have
a question you can write
me here ....

~ You will need ~
Paint Shop Pro 9, a 30 day trial program can be downloaded here.
Flaming Pears Aetherize included in the Designer
Sextet it's the fourth one on the page.
This is a demo version of
the filter. You can try before you buy.
Unzip this to your plugin folder.
The 2 fonts I used from DaFont, Beautiful
Ink and Especial

Unzip the fonts, open and minimize them on your desktop.
Right click to save this royalty free image to your hard drive and open in PSP. You
can use any image you like.
Let's get started ..
With your softtulips.jpg open in PSP go to Effects/Flaming Pear/Aetherize
using these settings ..
Here's a short explanation about the Aetherize filter and how
to use it. Flaming Pear has lots of cool presets for this filter.
Button 1
will
open the presets for you. After you click on this button you will need
to browse to the folder where you keep your plugins, then Flaming Pear\Designer Sextet\Designer Sextet\Aetherize\Aetherize presets to find them.
Button 2
is to Save
a Setting, when you create an effect you want to save.
Button 3
is
the Undo button, returning your image to the previous settings.
Button 4
is "roll the dice", a randomizer of presets. Click away until you
find something you like.
Button 5
is Glue, glue is similar to blend modes in
PSP.
There are buttons for zooming in and out, too.
You can also grab your image with your mouse and move it around in the
preview window.
The sliders are pretty self explanatory, move those to fine tune the
blur, hues, colorize, etc.

This is how your image should look now ..

Go to Adjust/Softness/Soft Focus and use these settings ..
This is what you should have now ..
